History of Newberg Gallery 1996-2008

Gallery interior about 2000
Founded in 1996 when I opened Newberg Frame & Gallery. I wanted a frame shop, but with so much space I ended up adding art for sale. As I became more established, began learning how the space needed to look, added home decor items, started doing "The Room" it was time for the first evolution so I dropped the Frame and and became Newberg Gallery. Business grew and the gallery's reputation grew and life was good. The gallery, as any business should, evolved and changed day to day and year to year. Fun, exciting, terrifying.
For those who remember and loved all the view of The Room, I have designed a page for the front window follow the link.

Recent History 2008 to current
Since 2008, as many of you know all to well, life got very challenging due to strong changes in the economy. But, I won't waste any time blaming the economy. I will take responsibility for being unwilling to change, adapt and work differently.
In 2010, I made the decision to rightsize my operation and leased the gallery space to the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce. Once the lease was finalized in Early 2011, I was at work turning part of the basement workshop into a design space. I enlisted the help of Roger Hirsch, now retired, to remodel and construct walls, doors and move a few things. I also got help in color and design from Tina of Enomoto Design
